Calathea makoyana / 'Peacock Plant'

A beautiful variety of Calathea, with stunning leaves and a very graceful appearance. 

Native to the tropical climates of Southeast Asia, this plant boasts large, heart-shaped leaves that are a lush green in colour with a glossy sheen. 

A highly prized addition to any collection.

Peacock Plants belong to the Prayer Plant family, and like other members, they fold their leaves up at night, mimicking a praying posture.

Watering

Dependent on home conditions, pot size and season. Rainwater or filtered water is best for this plant, tap water may cause leaf browning. Water when top few inches of soil feel dry, increasing frequency during the warmer months.

Lighting

Bright indirect light is best. It will tolerate moderate to low light conditions but will grow slower. Avoid direct sunlight.
