The Calathea, given its common name prayer plant, because its leaves fold together at night, like praying hands. If you get up early enough you’ll get to see those leaves relax at sunrise ready to collect the sun rays.
The Bluegrass variety has unique waxy leaves that are coated in tiny hairs, giving the plant a velvety feel and look. The leaves themselves are a deep green with wavy edges. Perfect for bringing a tropical flair to your home.
*Pot size 12cm. Non toxic to pets.*
Did you know?
Too much sun can actually make this plant’s colours fade, so try to keep it away from very sunny windows.
Watering:
To keep a prayer plant happy, make sure you don’t let its soil dry out. Check it at least once a week and water it when the top two inches of soil feel dry. It will also benefit from feeding once a month in spring and summer. If you can try using mineral water this will prevent crispy edges.
Lighting:
Keep in indirect light and never expose to direct sunlight.
Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves. Collections or 'mixed' listings for plants will be selected dependant on availability and carefully hand-picked to ensure their quality.
