Mimosa pudica / 'Sensitive Plant'

Also known as the 'touch-me-not', this plant has divided leaves that are sensitive to touch! The foliage will fold in upon touch and fully open again after 30 minutes.

Did you know?

Mimosa pudica earned its nickname "sensitive plant" from its reaction to stimulation. Its leaflets quickly turn inward when touched or shaken. The reason is up for debate. One explanation is that it is a form of predatory defense, exposing the thorn-covered stems.

Watering

Dependent on home conditions, pot size and season. Keep soil evenly moist but not overwatered. Increase watering frequency during the warmer months.

Lighting

Best in bright light but not completely direct sun.
