It's in the pepper family The botanical name Peperomia is derived from the Greek words peperi (pepper), referring to its relation to the true black pepper plant (Piper nigrum).

Watering

Dependent on home conditions, pot size and season. Allow top soil to dry out before watering. 

Lighting

Peperomia does well in light to moderate light, such as found in a northern or east-facing window.
