Philodendron brandtianum / 'Silver Leaf Philodendron'

A unique, rare tropical plant with olive green leaves. It is a climbing vine with medium to large heart shaped leaves with white/silver markings, giving it it's nickname 'Silver Leaf'. You can stimulate it's climbing behaviour at home with the addition of a moss pole to encourage larger leaf growth. Its unique look has made it very sought after, and the beauty of this plant means it will make a great staple to any home.

This Philodendron has the ability to produce flowers, however this is very rare when kept in indoor environments. The foliage remains the main attraction.

Lighting

As this plant grows on a rainforest floor, it is well accustomed to indirect bright light, away from a window. It can tolerate a more shady spot but will grow slower.

Watering

Dependent on home conditions, pot size and season. This plant enjoys moist soil and high humidity. Water when the top two inches of soil feel dry but ensure there is adequate drainage to prevent root rot.
