*RARE* Philodendron melanochrysum

The Philodendron melanochrysum is a striking RARE plant, it is fully developed to showcase its dark, velvety sheened leaves with eye-catching pale veins. It's native to South American rainforests, where it acts as a climbing plant. You can stimulate this behaviour at home with the addition of a moss pole to encourage larger leaf growth. Its unique look has made it very sought after, and the beauty of this plant means it will make a great staple to any home.

This Philodendron has the ability to produce flowers, however this is very rare when kept in indoor environments. The foliage remains the main attraction.

Lighting

As this plant grows on a rainforest floor, it is well accustomed to indirect bright light, away from a window. It can tolerate a more shady spot but will grow slower.

Watering

This plant enjoys moist soil and high humidity. Water when the top two inches of soil feel dry but ensure there is adequate drainage to prevent root rot.
