A visually appealing little succulent, nicknamed "pickle plant" or "candlestick plant" due to it's elongated spears that resemble pickles or candlesticks. With it's statuesque form and blueish green tinted stems, it certainly is an eye-catching plant to add to your collection.
As a succulent, this plant is fantastic at storing water in it's stems, making it relatively low maintenance and a perfect companion for beginners or the forgetful waterers amongst us!
*Non-toxic to pets. Pot size: 5.5cm.*
Did you know?
Unlike other succulents, this plant is a winter grower and summer dormant. The stems can reach heights of up to 10 inches and during summer, brilliant red to orange thistle-like flowers can grow and sit at the top of the stem.
Watering
Senecio doesn’t need a lot of water, particularly in winter. You can let it dry out completely between watering. Winter watering once every 2 months and peak summer once every week.
Light conditions
This plant LOVES the sun. It can be kept in the window at all times except for during peak heatwave summer where it needs to be moved back slightly. It can also be kept in more shady conditions but it will grow slower.
